Work-Life Enrichment
The Jay Shop trains our employees with personalized experience in light manufacturing tasks to prepare them for mainstream employment after they leave the Transitional Work Program. We work directly with our manufacturing and business partners to ensure that our employees have usable skills to help them find gainful employment in the future.
Trial Work & Mainstream Employment Services
The Jay Shop's community-based assessments help place our employees with any business or organization looking to increase their integration of qualified people with disabilities in their workforce. We make sure that our employees get the support they need and are ready to be directly hired for full-time employment.
Educational and Vocational Training
Employees are provided with free educational and vocational training in order to ready them for the challenges of today's fast paced job market. Classes include basic computer skills, building a digital resume, and one-on-one assistance to improve literacy skills.

Eligibility for The JayShop Transitional Work Program
Applicants Must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be a resident of The State of Michigan.
- Be willing to be interviewed by a counselor.
- Be approved for admission by a committee.
Referrals to The Jay Shop may be made by rehabilitation agencies (public or private), private insurance agencies, social service agencies (e.g. Community Mental Health, Michigan Works, Jewish Vocational Services, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, or Medical Practitioners).
